  • Really charming place. Beautiful enclosed garden, characterful inside. Attentive staff who helped with ordering the children's' meals first then bringing them out promptly. Good selection of food, including classics and some more unusual dishes. Great atmosphere and very busy on a Saturday early evening so very pleased that we booked.

  • Stayed in one of the brand new cabins. The accommodation is equipped to a high standard with a really comfortable super king sized bed. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and the staff were very attentive and welcoming. Highly recommended.

  • We visited and stayed on Sunday night en route from Cornwall to Portsmouth. The room was beautiful with a great big comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. The bathroom had a lovely big shower and there the towels were plentiful and fluffy. The menu in the bar was very limited but it was Sunday night and we had both chose very good burgers which very much "hit the spot". Breakfast was also very good. The overwhelming aspect of the stay however was the warmth of the welcome we received and the charm of the staff. A thoroughly and highly recommended stopping off point to which I have little doubt we shall return.

  • The food is excellent and the portions are large and filling, so much so that there was no room for desserts, only coffee. The waitress was so friendly and helpful, realising that we were strangers, she told us all about the history the pub and the area.

  • We came here for lunch midweek before venturing out in the cold for a dog walk. The food and service was really good and the atmosphere was really welcoming and cosy. I will be visiting again and will be recommending to friends and family.
